The action at Centro Ecuestre Oliva Nova has resumed. The first week of competition at\u00a0the\u00a0Spring MET 2026 concluded on Sunday with a Belgian victory in the CSI2* 1.45m Grand Prix presented by Dammann Reitplatz- u. Sportplatzbau GmbH.\u00a0

Eleven horse-and-rider combinations from the 43 at start cleared the first-round track and joined the deciding jump-off, where Belgium\u2019s Lauranne Spits (20) and the 11-year-old mare Parel van het Russeltveld (Lavallino Ter Klomp x Sandro Boy) clocked the winning time of 38.36.\u00a0

\u201cI have\u00a0had\u00a0her for three years.\u00a0She’s\u00a0really nice,\u00a0she always tries her best and I really love her a lot,\u201d Lauranne said about her winning mount, Parel van het Russelveld.\u00a0

\u201cI saw the first two riders in the\u00a0jump-off\u00a0and I thought\u00a0they\u00a0were\u00a0really\u00a0quick\u00a0\u2013\u00a0so\u00a0I knew I had to go fast also,\u201d she explained about her winning strategy. \u201cParel felt good in the first round, and\u00a0I went in to the jump-off with\u00a0confidence.\u00a0I know my mare, and I just tried\u00a0to have a good round and see\u00a0what happens. It worked out and\u00a0I’m\u00a0happy!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI like being here,\u00a0it’s\u00a0nice that you can work on the younger\u00a0horses\u00a0also,\u201d the happy winner said about the venue in Oliva Nova.\u00a0\u201cI stay here the whole tour.\u00a0I’ll\u00a0try to work on my younger horses,\u00a0they’re\u00a0here to learn. I’m\u00a0also here to learn, to\u00a0ride\u00a0these\u00a0big courses with Parel \u2013 she’s\u00a0teaching me how to do it.\u201d\u00a0

The host nation\u2019s Mariano Martinez Bastida and Belano Vd Wijnhoeve Z (Berlin x Darco) had to settle for the second place when the clock stopped on 39.51, while Denmark\u2019s Andreas Schou and Convant (Conbassy x Vivant) completed the podium in third with the time of 39.55. Olivier Perreau (FRA) on Leopard des Joanins Z (L\u2019Arc de Triomphe Bois Margot x Quick Star) followed in fourth, while Eoin McMahon (IRL) aboard Disney Z (Dimitri Z x Numero Uno) finished fifth.\u00a0
