Spring MET II 2026 in Oliva Nova, Spain, concluded on Sunday with the CSI3* 1.50m CHG \u2013 Construcciones Hispano Germanas S.A \u2013 Grand Prix.

Only five horse-and-rider combinations from the 44 at start cleared the first-round track set by Louis Konickx (NED). After an exciting jump-off of five, Faye Schoch (SUI) and the 11-year-old gelding Cornetto DB Z (Cornet Obolensky x Inshallah de Muze) took the win as the only double clear of the competition.

\u201cI\u00a0wasn’t\u00a0expecting any of this,\u201d the happy winner said afterwards.\u00a0\u201cCornetto jumped\u00a0absolutely fantastic. When I walked\u00a0the\u00a0course, I\u00a0thought it was quite big,\u00a0but he jumped\u00a0so good, he\u00a0was fighting for me, he was great. I was here last week in the Grand\u00a0Prix\u00a0and we\u00a0didn’t\u00a0have the best jump-off, so\u00a0today I\u00a0really just\u00a0wanted to go in and try to\u00a0make it better.\u00a0I’m\u00a0not the fastest rider, and\u00a0I just wanted to have a nice round. I wanted to\u00a0do\u00a0better than last week, and\u00a0it worked out well.\u00a0The luck was on our side.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe\u00a0is\u00a011 now, and I bought him when he was four,\u201d Faye said about Cornetto. \u201cI\u00a0have taken\u00a0my time with him and\u00a0it’s\u00a0only now that\u00a0we’re\u00a0starting to jump bigger.\u00a0I\u00a0don’t\u00a0have the ambition to go fast and to jump big. I just really took my time step by step\u00a0with him and\u00a0I just absolutely love him now.\u201d

\u201cI always love coming to Oliva,\u201d Faye said about the venue. \u201cIt’s\u00a0an amazing place.\u00a0I’ve\u00a0been here so many times already,\u00a0I think\u00a0I’ve\u00a0done all the tours,\u00a0I’ve\u00a0been through all of them\u00a0\u2013\u00a0and every tour is special,\u00a0and really well\u00a0organized. The venue is\u00a0so clean and nice,\u00a0with\u00a0such nice people\u00a0\u2013\u00a0we always feel welcome.\u201d

Noora Von B\u00fclow (GBR) and Primavera (Mylord Carthago x Cornet Obolensky) had to settle for the second place with one down in a time of 41.39 seconds, while Olivia Sponer (GBR) and Bingo du Chateau (Quaprice Bois Margot x Royal Feu) followed in third, also carrying four penalties. Andreas Schou (DEN) and Riverdale van\u2019T Poezelhof (Thunder van de Zuuthoeve x Iceberg ST) finished fourth and Skye Higgin (GBR) aboard Fly For You (Quaprice Bois Margot x L\u2019Arc de Triomphe) fifth.

Spring MET 2026 continues on March 10 with the third part of the tour, followed by Spring MET IV in April.
